Documents Required to Complete the Rental Agreement

Driver Requirements

Minimum driver’s age is 21. Driving license must be held for at least 1 year. Maximum age driver’s age is 70.

When picking up your rental car, you will need the following documents (all in the name of the main driver):

Passport or ID card (air-tickets may be required)

Driving license

Credit card

Security Deposit on Pick Up and Payment

A security deposit will be blocked on the main driver's credit card at pick-up. It will be fully released at the end of the rental, if there is no theft or damage to the rental car.

Accepted credit cards in the main driver's name: MasterCard, Visa

Not accepted: Debit cards, Someone else's card (including family members), Cash

Virtual payments (e.g. Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.), Prepaid cards

Note - Only physical credit cards and driving licence are accepted.

YOUR RENTAL EXCLUDES

Out of hours fees: 150.00 EUR.

Fines, Toll Fees & Parking charges

Additional equipment (Like: child seat, navigation system (GPS)) requested at time of booking or purchased locally and extra services (Like: additional driver, out of hours fees and one way rentals).

 

Please note that the prices for items not included in the rate and payable to the car rental company are subject to change. Optional extras/special equipment are subject to availability.

 

CROSS BORDER POLICY

Charge for cross border is 50.00 EUR.

 

Cross border travel: customer must advise the car will be driven out of country of rental at the beginning of the rental. May be taken into the following countries: Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Spain,Portugal, Andorra, Monaco, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland.

 

INSURANCE

Insurance includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) subject to an excess.

Excess amount: 1.700 €. You can take the SCDW to remove the excess from our supplier for 45.10 € a day. Or you can take out damage excess refund insurance with CarJet for 10.45 € a day – Total for your booking: 31.35 €. If you prefer not to take RENT PLUS' excess waiver, a deposit of 1,600.00 € will be blocked from your credit card.

Please note that customer negligence is never included in the SCDW.

Please note that if you take out the supplier’s insurance on arrival you will still be required to leave a deposit of 900 € for any car.

 

Please note that damage to wheels, tyres, glass, interior of the car and undercarriage is never included in the insurance.

 

OUT OF HOURS

Out of hours collections/returns: from 50 € (on request only).

Taking the car abroad / to other islands / to other states

Cross border fee (for taking the car to France, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, France, Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Monaco, Luxembourg, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland): 54.85 € per rental.

 

Please note that you are not allowed to take the vehicle to any countries other than the ones mentioned.

 

FULL COVERAGE

What is full coverage:

Full Coverage covers bodywork, glass, tyres and other excess you have to pay, if your rental vehicle has been damaged.

 

The supplier’s Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) may be included in your rental price. CDW limits your liability for the car to the excess – the amount of money the car rental company will charge you in the event that the rental car is damaged. Such items as windscreen, locks, tyres, undercarriage and key are not covered by the CDW. If you are held responsible to pay the excess, you pay it to the rental company.

 

If Full Coverage has been purchased along with the rental, it will cover all unexpected losses related to local car rental agreement.

What is protected

•          Damage excess amount you pay if your rental vehicle is involved in an incident.

•          Excess amount for car theft.

•          Charges for damage to the rental vehicle mechanical components that are not covered by your car rental agreement including bodywork, roof, undercarriage, windscreen, windows, mirrors, locks, wheels tires, hubcaps, engine, clutch, battery.

•          Towing costs related to damage.

•          Costs incurred for replacement of a lost or stolen key for a rental vehicle.

•          Processing fee (including admin fees charged by rental companies). Please note that when making a refund, the bank commission for an international payment is split between the customer and EconomyBookings.


WHAT IS NOT COVERED

Any incident or damage caused by negligent acts such as drunk driving, misfuelling, driving off-road, breaking local laws or the rules of the road, and other situations when you weren’t sticking to the Terms & Conditions of car rental agreement.

Car damage caused by natural disasters, acts of war and terror attacks. Policy limitations Full Coverage requests must be reported to EconomyBookings no later than 7 days after the rental end.

If you request coverage within 8-14 days after the rental end, a 30% late submission Service Fee of the confirmed refundable amount will be charged.

If you request coverage later than 14 days after the rental end, a 60% late submission Service Fee of the confirmed refundable amount will be charged.

Full Coverage reimburses damage and theft excess under your car rental agreement up to a maximum amount of 1 700 EUR*.

* Or the same amount in local currency at the exchange rate.
